Reservations should be made in advance online. Reservations are limited per hour, per day to enhance the visitor experience. Certain time blocks or days may sell out.

Weather Conditons: Lost River Gorge will be closed for the remainder of the day Saturday September 16th, 2023 due to high winds.<br /> <br /> Cloudy and windy with occasional light rain...mainly in the morning. High 64F. Winds NW at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of rain 70%. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph.

Comments:

  1. PLEASE NOTE: If WET, ALL BOARDWALKS, LADDERS AND STAIRS WILL BE SLIPPERY! Expect to encounter uneven footing plus natural and man-made obstacles. Outdoor clothing and sturdy footwear are highly recommended. Sandals, flip-flops, high heels and platforms ARE NOT recommended.

  2. We light our boulder caves with lanterns. DO NOT TOUCH, SEVERE BURNS WILL RESULT! Some boulder caves may be too dark for younger children.

  3. If thunderstorms and/or lightning occur, the gorge will be evacuated for the safety of visitors and Lost River staff. There are no refunds, but we will be happy to issue a rain check.

Cave Rating Chart:

  1. A) Most difficult! For the adventurous and agile. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
  2. B) Less difficult! For the agile. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
  3. C) Least difficult! For just about everyone.
